Domestic violence is real and reports saying that there is a decrease in cases is far from true. Why? Because victims are actually struggling in silence. Many women are trapped in a situation that they can’t get out of easily. This shouldn’t be just a fight of one, this should be our fight. What’s important now is for us to not turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to what’s happening but be sensitive and ready to take action when the situation calls for it.
In this week’s episode, Miki Sturges shares very important insights regarding the reality of domestic violence and how a lot of women are suffering especially during this pandemic. As a woman who experienced abuse herself, Miki talks about the signs of abuse, using codes to ask for help, how to plan an escape now, and the importance of rewiring your brain to get out of the victim mentality.
If it’s freedom you want or you want to help someone being abused, this is the episode for you.
